K&N TYPHOON INTAKE SYSTEM
About the Typhoon Intake System
Built for performance and show, the Typhoon Air Intake System is a free-flowing mandrel-bent aluminum tube induction system designed to fit many sport compact performance vehicles. Each kit is proven on a rear-wheel dynamometer to increase horsepower and torque. Typhoon intakes come in one of three designs; cold air intakes (CA), short ram intakes (SR), or complete cold air (CCA) intakes which can be configured as either a cold air intake or a short ram intake. They come with an oversized High-Flow conical air filter designed to provide increased surface area and dust capacity. This extra surface area provides even more airflow at lower restriction than a standard K&N O/E replacement filter that is limited to the size of the factory air box. The oversize air filter also captures more dirt increasing the service life before a cleaning is required (up to 100,000 miles).

Decreased throttle response | Good Sound
Noticed reduced throttle response after installing. This part was shipped to me with the incorrect attachment brackets. I called K&N customer service and they quickly shipped me the correct components. After installation the airbox didn’t didn’t align with the air inlet. I had to use some weather stripping to fix the 1/2” gap. Says the component is a CAI, but I get plenty of heat soak while driving. Sounds really good when I’m halfway deep in the pedal!

Great look, great sound!
This was my first mod on my car, and it's awesome! The biggest difference I've noticed is the overall responsiveness of the throttle has increased, and the glorious deep sound of the intake. I have a stock exhaust still and it sounds even a little rumbly. It's a great looking intake to boot, a nice old school exposed filter always looks great to me. Huge fan of K&N products, I use them on all of my cars
