The first commercial halogen lamp was developed around 1959. In most applications they're easy to recognize due to the high heat and orange light output. They also have a lower life span with lower light output per watt. This new Al series bulb utilizes the latest technology to maximize light output while maintaining an affordable price.
Through experience from previous bulb design, OLM has continued to push its larger heatsinks vs fans. By keeping them out of the design, there are less components at risk of failing.
As the trend towards smaller, lighter and thinner luminaires continues to gain momentum, LED manufacturers—including Lumileds—have responded by shrinking the size of their LED packaging. One result of this trend is the growing popularity of Chip Scale Package (CSP) technology. CSP technology eliminates the traditional submount to directly attach the LED die to the PCB, allowing for overall system cost reductions. As fully functional LED packages that are equal to or slightly larger than the size of a die, CSPs are increasingly being implemented in lighting designs.
Installation of the H11/H16 OLM Al series is extremely simple. If the socket fits, that's where it goes! The LED driver to bulb connections come with rubber seals to make sure the connection remains watertight.

SubiSpeed only offers HID relays when they are possibly required. We have tested the current draw of this kit and found that it does not exceed the factory wiring.
I purchased these to replace my factory halogen bulbs on my 2015 WRX. It was an easy install and the results are fantastic. I removed the front two push pins for each side underneath the bumper. After pulling back the liner, there was more than enough room to reach. These match my factory LED headlights perfectly. Previously I couldn't tell if the fog lights were off or on. These made a big difference.
Took me about 5 minutes to do. Simply pop 1 plastic pop rivet on each side and pull the corner piece down to gain access. The color is a perfect match for the stock Led headlights and the light output is perfect. Wish I would have done this sooner.
Fit and finish is great. Less then 10 minute install and it really sharpened the look. Much brighter then stock. Overall very happy. Get the LED turn signals to complete the look.
I originally purchased due to a burned out stock fog bulb at > 40K miles. I installed these according to the video on this page but my wrists were pinched in between the bumper cover and fender liner. I imagine complete removal would've been easier. Nevertheless, it worked. The 1st side took me about an hour due to fear of breaking something. 2nd side took 5 minutes due to my understanding the limits of the bumper cover and fender liner. Literally a night and day difference with the lighting put out.
