Diode Dynamics SmartTap™ Flasher Relay
The SmartTap™ is a replacement turn signal flasher module compatible with any vehicle using a CF18 Flasher. Programming each mode is simple with the help of the included programming guide and the use of existing vehicle controls.
Tap to Turn
One-touch signaling is a convenient way to signal to other drivers when switching lanes. Simply tap the turn signal for a series of signal blinks.
Arrival and Departure Modes
When the lock or unlock button is pressed, the surrounding area will illuminate for better visibility when approaching or leaving the vehicle at night. The lighting time can be adjusted from 10-90 seconds for additional illumination, or disabled if desired.
Unique Hazard Functions
The SmartTap™ has built-in strobe, slo-mo and wig-wag hazard functions to help the vehicle stand out when the hazards are on. Apply these functions on their own, together or with the strobe setting for a total of EIGHT unique hazard functions!

By Nic March 15, 2018definitely like this mod quick easy and simple o yeah cheap too add a little fun and dress up to your ride!! I increased my flashers to 6 and it was supper easy to change also use the wig wag strobe looks dope.

Overall well made with one little flaw....
By Yoshi January 19, 2018The good: The tap to turn is great! Makes commuting just a little bit easier. The variable flash pattern is wonderful on the road to attract a bit more attention especially if you hit your hazards when coming to a sudden stop on the interstate. The physical module itself has a fit and finish equal to the OE relay. Installation is pretty straight forwards and easy. There is one piece that you have to remove and reuse to hold the relay. It's a flimsy part easily broken or warped so just be careful removing it, you'll need it later. I like having extra approach lighting. My car is a 2015 STI Limited so I already had approach lighting via the head and tail lights. This adds the turn signals so it's just brighter now and looks better. The bad: There is an issue where if you hit the unlock button the turn signals glow for approach lighting but the fob cannot be used to unlock other doors or the trunk until the timer on the turn signal approach lighting expires. So if you miss a double tap to unlock the doors or realize you want to open the trunk after you have unlocked the doors you won't be able to do it until the approach lighting turns off. Also there is a slight pause when you turn on the hazards. It's maybe a second before the hazards start where the OE relay is immediate after pressing the buttons. Both issues for me are not enough for me to remove this relay and replace it with the OE one but they are annoying.

Welcome Lighting
By Tony November 20, 2017Great idea but the Welcome lighting does not work on 2016 BRZ. To bad one of the better features I was looking forward to especially nice at night in the dark getting into the car.

Bit pricey, but...

Nice addition
By Joshua August 1, 2017Purchased for my '17 WRX, super easy to install and happy with it overall. Watched some videos where some removed it underneath. My body doesn't contort like that anymore, don't be stupid like them. It takes 20 seconds to pop the side panel off and one screw is all it takes to have simple access to the relay. I don't think it even took 5 minutes to remove the stock relay and install the new one.

Plug and play
By Matthew March 31, 2017Very easy to install, doesn't require removing any of the dash of plastic panels. Just move your seat back, unplug the factory relay, plug yours in and go. Would be interested to see how some of the unique hazard flashers work with aftermarket tail lights but otherwise a very cool piece.
