We set out to make one of the highest quality systems available that was simple and had a great sound. We have a single piece mid pipe section that is mandrel bent as needed and one of the straightest available. A V-Band clamp was used to attach the axle back portion for ease of install, and future V2 (right side single exit) and V3 (no muffler single exit) upgrade options. You hear the exhaust when you want to, by letting the RPM's wrap out with your foot firmly on the floor, and don't hear it when cruising at 3000 RPM down the highway. It is also not overly loud when shifting normally on your morning commute to work. To keep the ruckus down during normal driving we had to use a heavier muffler. Testing showed us that the lighter mufflers increased noise in the RPM ranges for daily commutes and is not something we wanted in our V1 system. We will have lighter exhausts for our V2 and V3 due out later this year. The number one goal for the V1 is sound and daily drive-ability, and I firmly believe that has been accomplished here. All of our systems are built to order. This will add 3-4 business days ( Monday - Friday ) for welding and coating if applicable.

    Ordered it and it arrived in days, much sooner than I expected, so I unpacked the silencer and midpipe, dropped the seat back, and stored them in the back of the BRZ until I could arrange installation. I had them installed on a Monday morning and the car was ready by lunch hour. It's only 1.5 miles back to work through small town traffic, but that was enough to put a smile on my face. The start up rumble is AWESOME: a nice deep Subi-rumble (I have the UEL catted header too!), acceleration dB's are linear to how much foot you put into the throttle, and it's relatively quiet at steady speed. After work I took it to my "Private Nordschleife" loop and it did not disappoint! Sounds modest when driven modestly, but sounds heroic when driven aggressively. And yes, the exhaust tips look as good as the system sounds!

    If you like a low, deep-sounding exhaust, this is definitely one that fits the bill. Install was troublesome getting the hooks onto the rubber hangers. Had to use DW-40 to help push them into place. Also, for the 2017 86 the screws that come with this which connect the catback to the frontpipe are about an inch too long. Do NOT use these as they will create a harsh rattle when you rev (loose dangling pieces), since the two pipes are not fastened all the way. Just use the stock screws and you're good to go. This exhaust is amazingly deep, and definitely louder than the stock exhaust. No drone at all, you get a nice harmonized note at 2-3K on the highway.
