Interior Lighting for the Entire Vehicle
With factory interior lighting kits costing over $100, GCS brings an easy to install kit to the market that will provide light for both 1st and second rows of seats.
This kit comes with all you need to complete your installation. 4 strips of lighting include 4 runs of wire which you will connect to the controller box. This box connects to your smartphone via an Android or iOS application. You can choose preset colors, choose your own color, or let the lights dance to the beat of the music.
To make the installation even easier, an add a fuse is included so you use the 12v plug fuse inside the cabin to power the kit. In this area there are bolts which mount to the chassis that can provide a ground for the system.
Includes both cigarette lighter and hard wiring connectors (preferred method). Bluetooth connectivity prevents the control device (smartphone) from losing its Internet connection while controlling the RGB lighting system.
Installation
The included add a fuse makes installation a breeze.
- There are two types of add a fuses included. Select the appropriate one for your installation and place the included fuse in the top slot.
- Note an appropriate fuse by using the diagram we have provided. For these vehicles, the fuse box is located in the driver's side *dash area.
- Pull the fuse out from that location and install it on the bottom slot of the add a fuse.
- Insert the red wire from the RGB LED controller box power wire in the blue portion of the add a fuse and crimp the connection.
- Insert the add a fuse in the slot you removed the fuse from earlier.
- Locate a bolt which can act as a ground post. Use the for the black wire on the RGB LED controller box power wire.
- Insert this power wire in the controller box. Run the rest of the wiring to the mounting locations for the LED strips, mount them, and connect the wires to the RGB controller.
*The WRX / STI / Crosstrek / Forester have a fuse box door that faces the driver. The FR-S / BRZ / 86 have it located under the dash.
Try to avoid turning the vehicle to accessory power before starting. Restarting the RGB controller quickly can result in loss of bluetooth connectivity.

Solid Cosmetic Upgrade
By Josh November 23, 2022Easy enough to install, but running the front passenger light behind the dash is tricky. As many mentioned, the adhesive isn’t the strongest. But this is an easy fix with some decent 3m tape. The install location for the rear lights isn’t awesome, but there are limited mounting locations. May consider mounting them to the bottom or the seat instead of the rail as suggested by another reviewer if I can account for seat movement. Another complaint was the lack of installation instructions. Sure, there are tons of videos, but well done written instructions are always nice to have. The lights work well. The controller app is good. Super fun cosmetic upgrade. I would recommend these as long as you can get them on sale. The regular price is a bit much.

Once again, Subispeed has came through on providing another well working product for your WRX/STI! Just make sure the area is clean where the light strip will go or follow the install video provided.

Adhesive could be better
By Luis September 25, 2021I have to say 1st and foremost this is a pretty straight forward install if you are using the tap for the fuse box. As with everyone else the hardest part was getting wires to the passenger side. The only downfall to this kit is the adhesive. I live in AZ and the heat here just melts it causing it to fall off between drives or the vehicle sitting outside for long periods of time. I literally have to get in and reattach it every time I drive it. The tape they use may be similar to 3m but isn't the heavy duty stuff, so i will be removing it all and using HD 3m tape. This is one of the reasons I wont bite the bullet and purchase the Subiespeed gurney flap that uses the same tape as I don't want it flying off on the freeway due to the same heat. All in all its a great product and works great. The app is useful but wish there was a way for it to play my music w/o the screen being on the phone in order to have access to the Mic.

Great product with some futzing
By Mike August 1, 2021Lights and the kit has everything you need and hooking everything up, running lines, where you need to out the lights in your car all make sense and is done in a relatively short time. I don't know if my kit was old though, because the adhesive backing on every light just WOULD NOT STAY STUCK. I cleaned all the surfaces with paper towels, alcohol, and wiped them down with fresh paper towels when done. They would fall each time. Had to go to Advance Auto and get some 3M tape to replace the backing on these lights. Once I did that everything was smooth sailing. Overall happy, but having to spend an extra $12 to get the product installed for something that should have worked out of the box was disappointing.

1 of 4 LED Light Strips Don’t Work

I tried connecting the strip to all four power source connections without any luck. I think it’s just a defective part. The other 3 strips work fine and all respond to bluetooth app. Hoping to hear from Subispeed soon. For now one of my rear seats won’t have footwell lighting. Other than that, good product for the price!

Super easy and looks fantastic
By Trevor February 28, 2021Only had an issue with the driver side lights. The connector portion kept drooping down and catching my leg. I used some hot glue and a clamp to get it set and now its perfect.

Fuse Box problem
By Tomas December 11, 2020The lights were great, installing them throughout the car was pretty much easy, but powering them through the fuse box was the problem. I followed the video thoroughly but the lights wouldn't turn on with the car. Their was one spot in the fuse box where the lights would always be on, so I knew everything else was done correctly. I didn't want the lights to be on forever so I ended up installing them in the glove compartment. Even with the trouble overall I do think it was worth the money

Subtle Detail That Goes A Long Way
By Alex December 6, 2020I was worried about this product not being able to work with my 2014 WRX hatch, but after a quick email response from Subispeed I was informed that this kit is basically universal. I actually opted to run the wiring through proper wiring channels/center console so it took a little longer than just tucking it away, but it made it look like it was factory standard. Speaking of, I was able to match the color, tone, and even brightness to the existing lighting using the bluetooth app. The ONLY downside to this kit is that the pre-installed adhesive is garbage and never really stuck to begin with. Make sure you have your own 3M double-sided tape ready.

Worth it!
By Steven November 23, 2020Wiring wasn't bad, took me and my buddy about 15 minutes. The biggest struggle for me was the double sided tape it comes with is probably the worst ive ever used so i had to use my own means to stick them on. Other than that its great light, app works great and paired within seconds of turning it on.

October 11, 2020I bought this after watching the youtube video and there was practically minimal effort when installing these. it was pretty simple and having the video as a guide makes it too easy. And the lights themselves look very good and I love the ease of changing them by using the app. Definitely a good purchase to upgrade the interior.

Tricky Install, Great Results
By Jimbo July 26, 2020Although the video shows it’s easy to pass the wires through the center to the passenger side, that ends up being the trickiest part! Also hooking everything up properly and knowing where to place the Bluetooth receiver was also not shown in the video. But overall once everything was installed, the all was easy to follow and the lights look great! Definitely recommend!

By Alexander April 4, 2019The installation was easy, took maybe 30-45 min to install, the fit was almost on point but the double tape or glue that comes with it sucks, I had to use better double tape the 3m was weak and fall off after 2 days but overall I'm super happy how it works and looks soo good and for the price this is something you should go for

Great product, easy but exhausting install
By David November 12, 2018I love the lights and features. Pretty simple install, I chose to hardwire it. As a bigger guy I found myself in some pretty crazy yoga poses but it ended up being worth it. Cool to the music color changing feature. Back ones are bright enough mounted on the rail, but might try the velcro solution proposed above.

Simple addition for alot of personalization
By Matt March 20, 2018Install was very easy, the youtube video definitely helped and once they were all up in running, I was definitely happy with my purchase. A few very minor things I noted: the adhesive needed a bit more pressure to really set when applying to the plastic in the front as opposed to the rear which mounted on the metal seat rails. Also, the LED strips came wrapped in a saran wrap type plastic which took some practice/figuring out to get it off without simply shredding. Still a solid choice!

Bright
By Mario March 3, 2018These lights can be pretty bright (they are able to be dimmed via the Happy Lighting app) and the installation wasn't too bad. Its a little bit of a pain fishing the wire through the back of the console to the passenger side. Also be prepared to get into some wierd angles when you are tucking and throwing on zip ties to get the wiring out of the way of the petals. One very important note for people like me who have never wired anything in my life. When you crimp the box wire to the Add-A-Fuse wire, make sure you first strip the Red wire about half an inch so that the wire is exposed and then carefully push it all the to the center of the blue tap. I got too excited and just crimped it without stripping..... Don't be an idiot like me.

Great LED Lights!
By Abraham November 3, 2017These look great at night, they look good during the day but at night they're fantastic! Took me around 30-40 minutes to install but was just because I'm a big guy and it was hard trying to run the cables and zip tie the wires and stuff. Although, it wasn't all that hard to install them. The only issue I ran into was that I had a lot of slack left over but I mean that's not necessarily a bad thing, you could find ways to make use of all the slack. I would rather have more than not enough. I just had to zip tie all of it and tuck it underneath the dash with all the other cables. Overall, I'm really pleased with these lights! Took literally seconds for the app to recognize them and they have no lag when I'm going through colors. The app is really nice too, it has pre-set modes if you want them to change color by themselves and stuff.

Installation was easy, but time consuming moving wires about through the small spaces of the FRS, but I am extremely pleased with the outcome, would certainly recommend.

easy install, looks awesome!
By VU May 22, 2017took me 20 minutes to install it. the subispeed video helped a lot. the bluetooth function is really cool once i found out which app to download (happy lighting in the IOS store). changing the color to whatever i want gives the car an extremely personable feel.

Worth the work
By Cade January 9, 2017I ordered these for my 2014 Forester and the end result is well worth the work. The wiring was a bit of a pain but nothing to difficult. My problem was with the adhesive on the back of the led strips, it would not stick to anything, i had to resort to my own means of attaching them, however after all that was done with, they paired to my phone just fine and work well and are very responsive. Currently my favorite mod to date!
