Looks great, poor quality
By Ryan May 30, 2019I had originally wanted to order the non-LED version of these smoked side markers, but when they were backordered, I decided to go with these instead. While the clips that hold the side markers in place on the FRS/BRZ can be a pain to deal with, these were easy to install and had an OEM fit. However, the LED light is fixed inside the sealed housing. A positive and negative wire come out of the back of the housing and are attached to a plug that just fits into the socket where the stock marker light bulb would go. Plug just presses in, and there really isn't anything to cover or secure this connection (since the bulb and socket would fit into the back of the OEM housing and twist to lock in place, but the housing on this light is sealed shut). When they were first installed, they looked great, and the amber light output had a nice, smooth glow. However, the first time that it rain, both became filled with water. They both still worked, but there was visible condensation and pooled water inside the housing. After about 6 months, though, one of them stopped working. When I removed the side marker to look for any obvious causes for the malfunction, I found one. The positive wire had separated from its attachment point on the plug, and both the plug and the socket had a mild amount of corrosion on them. I went to the other side to check the connection (even though the light still worked) and the same corrosion was present on the plug and socket. I disconnected both plugs and just ordered and installed the non-LED version that I wanted in the first place (which has an OEM style housing that the bulb socket fits into). I have been very happy and problem free with those so far.

Easy install and nice look,
By Evan October 18, 2018I wanted to get rid of the ugly orange side markers and go with a less flashy smoke marker. These gave the look I wanted, were easy to install and have great quality. Thanks!
