PERRIN Steering Rack Lockdown for the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ creates a solid connection between the steering rack and chassis. This increases driver feel and communication from the front tires while navigating those twisty bends.
Better Than Bushings
The PERRIN Steering Rack Lockdown creates a solid connection between the frame and the steering rack, eliminating the soft flex of the OEM bushings. Unlike other aftermarket steering rack bushings, which are merely stiffer than OEM bushings; PERRIN Lockdowns take this further with virtually zero flex.
Construction
Machined from solid 6061 T6 aluminum, the PERRIN Steering Rack Lockdown is perfectly designed to bolt directly to the sub-frame and the steering rack, solidly tying the steering rack to the frame of the car.
This solid connection eliminates the flexing and shifting of the rack. No special tools are required to install the lockdown.
PERRIN Steering Rack Lockdowns provide the benefit of an increased driver feel at the cost of adding some noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH). The increase in NVH is minimal and nearly impossible to feel.

Amazing mod, but...
By Lunch March 14, 2020If the item says 'Ships From Factory', then be warned about wait times. I had a 30 day delay between ordering and shipping, if you're okay with that wait then keep reading. NVH on stock engine mounts isn't bad, stiffer mounts will mean that you'll feel more way NVH, this pushes what you may want on a daily driver but the trade off is well worth it. Steering response is sharp and you'll get a bit more info from the wheel when it's centered. 10/10 mod but wait times may make you want to look elsewhere to buy this.

One of the first & best mods you should do!
By ProtoformX September 7, 2019These are stupid simple to install and instantly provide increased steering response with no increase in NVH. After adding the Edelbrock supercharger (~80 lbs), this set of steering rack lockdowns and a stiffer rear sway bar made the car more nimble than before the supercharger went on.
