Not only was this unit tested for day to day use on Crawford's shop test mule for nearly a year in cold, hot and varying altitudes it has also been tested on multiple race applications, from Auto-Cross, Time Attack, Endurance Racing and even the most brutal of racing, Rally. The current evolution of the Crawford High Performance Coolant Tank has been refined to work in the Subaru OEM locations with no modifications needed. The Crawford High Performance Coolant Tank has been fitted with a high pressure 27-29 PSI (1.8-2.0 bar) Moroso Radiator cap to handle everything from real world daily driving to conditions of the heat at Las Vegas International Race Way, reaching well into the 100 degree mark.

The benefit of increasing the coolant pressure is the ability to run higher coolant temperatures without the fear of the coolant boiling inside the engine. This higher pressure effectively raises the boiling point of the coolant from 248 degrees Fahrenheit or 120 degrees Celsius to 272F or 133C. This is an increase of 24 degrees Fahrenheit or 13 degrees Celsius over the stock STI radiator cap and an increased safety margin for your engine.

The High Performance Coolant Tank comes fitted with a billet filler neck for added durability and protection against leaks even when driving for extended periods of time. It is made from 100% aircraft grade aluminum and is fully Tig welded. The reliability of this piece can be seen not only in the American made craftsmanship, but also from the quality of the product during short day to day commutes, where temperatures rise and fall dramatically, and even the epic of racing conditions and endurance racing, where extreme engine temperatures are the norm.

Each Crawford High Pressure Coolant Tank is powder coated a semi-gloss black for the appealing OEM look under the hood and connects directly to the OEM coolant hoses with no modifications needed. Although, we recommend that a set of high quality / high pressure radiator hoses (such as Samco) are used when installing the Crawford High Pressure Coolant Tank in order to maintain a reliable high pressure system.
